Range ramps up Trinidad production

Range Resources (RRL) has ramped up its reserves production drilling programme on the Morne Diablo concession in onshore Trinidad.

Initial production testing on the QUN118ST well saw the well producing at a rate of up to 102 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and it has stabilised at approximately 84 bopd.

This came hot on the heels of the success of the QUN116ST well, which is currently producing circa 30 bopd under natural pressure, with an aim to increase the production rate to an estimated 50 bopd.

The company is expecting four fully-operational drilling rigs to "rapidly advance" the company's current drilling programme on Morne Diablo.

Rig 2, on the QUN 119 location, is drilling ahead at 1,100 feet with a target depth (TD) of 2,400 feet. Rig 5 has been prepared to join the current operations and will be targeting its first well, QUN 120. Rig 8 was awaiting regulatory inspection, "expected shortly", whilst Rig 1 was awaiting a replacement drill string.

Finally, the company announced that the North Chapman Ranch joint venture in Texas had run a 9 5/8-inch casing on the Albrecht #1 well and was drilling ahead at 11,302 feet, just above the Anderson Formation, with a proposed target depth of 14,500 feet.
